Song of The Week 5
So this week I had two songs fighting it out for Song of The Week. But the one that won is a song I have liked for a long time and came on the radio last night as I was leaving my parents house.
Feist- Mushaboom
I don't normally try to interpret what the song of the week is about but this song came on at the perfect moment and it struck me that the song is about being in your 20s.
Here are part of the song lyrics:
" Helping the kids out of their coats
Oh wait the babies haven't been born oh
Unpacking the bags and setting up
And planting lilacs and buttercups oh
But in the meantime we've got it hard
Second floor living without a yard
It may be years until the day
My dreams will match up with my pay"
Oh wait the babies haven't been born oh
Unpacking the bags and setting up
And planting lilacs and buttercups oh
But in the meantime we've got it hard
Second floor living without a yard
It may be years until the day
My dreams will match up with my pay"
I guess you could also say it is a song about wanting to live in the country but I think it is about the in between time I feel like I am in. Not grown up but not kid anymore either. This song came on right after I had just said goodbye to my brother who moved to Hawaii today to start his first REAL job and maybe have his dreams match up with his pay. How is that for being grown up.
